Yoga for Strength 4 Week Course starting January

Join Irina Billingham on this four-week course using yoga to build strength in a safe and effective way.  Each 75-minute class will focus on a different area of the body and you will learn how to activate and effectively use the muscles to build strength.

Sunday 20th January 12.15pm: Core Strength, the Bandhas & Breath

Sunday 27th January 12.15pm: Upper Body

Sunday 3rd February 12.15pm: Legs & Bum

Sunday 10th February 12.15pm: Creating length, twisting, back strength & flexibility

No previous knowledge of yoga is required, but it will be an intensive class, so expect to work hard and break a sweat!

Yoga for Beginners Course starting January

Designed for absolute beginners and people who want to improve their confidence.  Learn in a non-competitive and supportive environment and be guided by highly trained inclusive teachers.  In the 4 weeks you will learn:

  • 12 key postures in depth
  • 1 yoga sequence
  • 1 meditation & relaxation technique
  • Breathing techniques
  • Be part of a yoga community

This course is suitable for beginners and is non-competitive. It also gives you the building blocks if you are thinking of pursuing Yoga Teacher Training or owning your own Sandstone studio in the future.

Yoga Foundations 5 month Course starting March

If you’re looking to increase your yoga knowledge and build your confidence to take your practice away with you then our Yoga Foundations course is for you. It’s a 20 hour course with workshops held across 7 Sunday afternoons from March to June.  You will get the opportunity to learn:

  • 30 key postures in depth
  • At least four sequences for core strength, emotional  rebalancing, for a healthy back and stress relief
  • Meditation
  • Deep relaxation techniques
  • Energy boosting (Chakras, mudras)
  • Spinal awareness
  • Breathing techniques
  • Mindfulness
  • Yoga principles (Philosophy & Sanskrit)

Monthly Yin Yang with Thai Yoga Massage

Monthly Yin Yang with Thai Yoga Massage

Combine two styles of yoga with gentle massage and stretching. Yin yoga is a slower practice where we hold postures for longer helping to increase flexibility. Yang is more dynamic with faster paced sequences and postures. You will be guided through a deep relaxation which will also incorporate some Thai yoga massage.

Traditional Thai yoga massage is an ancient healing art handed down from teacher to pupil since the 3rd century BC. We use hands, feet and elbows to apply pressure to points of the body, together with gentle stretching, to release tension, blocked energy and free the body’s healing potential, restoring balance and harmony.

All abilities are warmly welcomed.

Teach Yoga & Mindfulness to Teens

7th – 9th June & 6 – 7th July 2019 at Aldridge HQ

Teen Yoga is an acclaimed, international course, designed & run since 2004, training you to teach yoga & mindfulness to young people.  It incorporates latest research in mindfulness, yoga, neuroscience & relaxation techniques for this age.

Teen Yoga Founder & Director Charlotta Martinus will be teaching the course alongside Yvonne Morey.  Charlotta Martinus launched this course for the first time in 2004 in response to the growing need to care for our young people & give them respite from stress & anxiety.  This course is unique as the only fully fledged, Yoga Alliance Professionals & IYN accredited & insured teen yoga course in the UK.
