Yoga Teacher Training 2020 – Is it the year for you?

It was lovely to see so many people at the studio on Saturday for our Discover Teacher Training Event last weekend; all of us have the same fears and concerns at the start of our Teacher Training course, and our SYT and Course Leader Michelle Nicklin SYT and Sandstone Founder, was able to spend some time exploring these, talking about the importance of commitment and purpose rather the need to be able to achieve the perfect headstand!

The group were able to find out what it’s like to study with the Midland’s leading Yoga Teacher Training Academy and some of the guest teachers we will have working with us, as well as how our 200 hour course can build into the 500 hour qualification, enabling our student teachers to specialise in their own areas with some of the most inspiring teachers in that field.  Great to see such a diverse mix of ages and experiences, and hopefully all our yogis left with an understanding of how rewarding sharing yoga can be, and a clearer plan of how to achieve their dream and live their yoga passion. As one of our graduates Sophie Rey says, it is the ethos of Sandstone and the support from Michelle and the team that makes this course stand out and is what she loved. She has found that teaching yoga brings so much joy; if you want to start your journey towards discovering that yourselves come and talk with us.

Our course is now over two thirds full, so if you are planning on making 2020 the year you become a yoga teacher, please do get in touch with the Bearwood studio to arrange a visit of a chat, and look out for our final information event in mid- February.  Over 150 teachers have graduated from our course over the last six years- if yoga is your life, we’d love to have you join us.

Here’s Sophie Rey, one of our past students who is now a full time yoga teacher.

I trained with Sandstone from 2017-2018 on their 10 month course. I have been a yoga teacher for 2 years part time, and about 6-7 months ago I went full time teaching yoga! It is the best decision I ever made. I absolutely love it. It brings me so much joy. It’s been quite a journey! It’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it. Helping people, and teaching people to reconnect with their body. When people actually tell you that your classes are helping them, it’s just such a lovely feeling and having them tell you their life is better from doing yoga, the way you teach, or they way you’ve taught them. Whether that’s for their mental wellbeing or their physical wellbeing. It’s great seeing that transformation in people.

My TT journey…as soon as I went to the open day at Sandstone I loved the ethos and I knew it was right for me. I loved the course content, the people were great and I’ve made some great friends. We became a little family. It was hard work. I went through my own personal journey, I was nervous and scared, but now I’ve pushed myself to do it, I’m so proud of myself. I had help from people on my course, Michelle told me I could do it. The opportunity to do this course was right for me and it readied me for my new career and I have never looked back!

Thanks to Sophie for sharing her personal story. If you. like Sophie have a passion and you need to pursue it, why not find out more. We still have spaces left on this years intake, so contact Lis on bearwood@sandstoneyoga.co.uk, or Louise on suttonc@sandstoneyoga.co.uk – they will happily talk you through what’s required and book you on!
